After a one-year forced break, the Swiss Cycling Alpenbrevet 2021 was able to roll over the passes in Andermatt and Ulrichen last weekend with a sold-out starting field of 3000 participants. The bright sun greeted the participants early in the morning and accompanied them throughout the day. <\/p>\n\n

Already at 6:00 a.m. the Platintour participants started their journey over the five alpine passes to be crossed (Susten, Grimsel, Nufenen, Lukmanier & Oberalp). At 6:45 a.m. the participants of the Gold and Silbertour started as well. In the magical morning glow, the participants were able to enjoy a low-traffic Furka Pass. <\/p>\n\n

Finally, at 9:30 a.m., the bronze tour started in Ulrichen. Together with the participants from Andermatt they tackled the ascent to the Nufenenpass – the roof of the Alpenbrevet. <\/p>\n\n
A successful event <\/h2>\n\n
Apart from a few bottlenecks at the refreshment stations, the organisation of the Swiss Cycling Alpenbrevet 2021 can draw a thoroughly positive conclusion. “The best and most important thing is to welcome the participants back to the finish line happy and safe and to be spared any serious incidents,” says Mario Klaus, member of the OC. “Based on an extensive survey of participants, we will further optimize and develop next year’s Swiss Cycling Alpenbrevet,” says Klaus. <\/p>\n\n
